Hats, scarves, and blankets, OH MY!

Nov 05, 2015

Fourth Street Clinic received heaps and heaps of beautiful hats, scarves, and blanklets all hand knit by the Utah State prisoners.

Hats and Scarves

We are so very grateful for this generous donation, especially since winter seems to have fallen upon us just this week! Our patients are feeling this seasonal change, and these warm winter items are desperately needed. This donation comes to us from the Utah State prisoners with the help of JB Henriksen, firm partner at Advanced CFO Solutions, and his wife, Janet who dedicate their time at the prison every week to teach the prisoners knitting. Thank you so much!

First Mobile Mammography Day

Feb 10, 2015

All day February 11, Fourth Street Clinic is hosting the first of two Mobile Mammography Days to give homeless women who are patients of Fourth Street Clinic access to critical breast cancer screens. Lack of money, health insurance and transportation are just a few of the barriers that homeless women face in following through with recommended health screens. Thanks to the Utah Cancer Control Program, Mountain Medical and Intermountain Medical Center Breast Care Services, 20 homeless women will get their mammograms with next day results. The women will also be treated to refreshments by Banbury Cross, manicures from Paul Mitchell - THE SCHOOL and walk away with gift bags full of cosmetics donated by Nordstrom at Fashion Place, yoga pants and blankets. "We wanted to bring some camaraderie and a little pampering into the experience," says Fourth Street Clinic Manager Tiffiny Gregory. "I'm proud of these women for making themselves a priority."

Fourth Street patients who are interested in getting a mammogram should speak with their doctor.

New CEO Laura Michalski Suggests the Gift of Healthcare

Nov 24, 2014

Newly hired CEO Laura Michalski kicks off the holiday giving season at Fourth Street Clinic – Utah’s nonprofit that provides health care services for homeless Utahns—by launching GiveOne RaiseTwo. December 1-10, several individuals and corporations will double all donations made to Fourth Street Clinic. This year sponsors have pledged $200,000 in matching dollars, and all funds raised will underwrite the cost of medical services for homeless Utahns and expand mental health and substance abuse services.

This is an exceptional year for awareness on this issue as The Leonardo opens the No Fixed Address: The Faces of America’s Homelessness exhibit that runs through Spring 2015. “Fourth Street Clinic has been apart of the advisory board and is displaying a Homeless Memorial that honors those in our city who have lost their lives to homelessness,” say Michalski. The memorial will be permanently installed outside Fourth Street Clinic when the exhibit ends.
